People who meet me always say… “you’re huge” ... It’s true, they are size-observant and yes, it's a fact, I am a handsome, larger breed with a killer "smile". To cool down, I pant like other dogs but just not as efficiently. This is because my surface(tongue)-area-to-volume(body) ratio means internal heat is trapped longer in larger dogs than smaller dogs. On warm HUMID days, air flow helps my saliva evaporate.

Thick fur on my back is colored black (absorbing sunlight) made being outdoors challenging in warmer weather. My human always obsessed about finding shade, bringing cool water bottles with us everywhere, and avoiding all hot surfaces (concrete, asphalt, sand, even grass in the sun!). Thanks to also wearing my "cool" vest reflecting light, I am comfortably (and stylishly) cool outside on my walks.

My silky fur coat is soft and white, which helps me stay cool by not absorbing sunlight but on hot days, I wear breathable shirts anyway to prevent sunburn and booties at times for walking on hot surfaces. I am never left in the car alone, instead I go shopping with my pack family, riding along in "my" cart.
